Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is looking for a Data Analytics Engineering Team Lead who will join the Engineering Strategy & Ops team, who are focused in creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives. This exciting role is responsible for leading a team in data analytics to delivering high-quality solutions to customers and stakeholders.

This role can be based at Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle or Melbourne.

We would like to see that you had led a team before - this is a challenging role at the forefront of engineering and organisational change - we are looking for someone to hit the ground running.
As a Data Analytics Engineering Team Lead, you will
- Lead a team of data analytics engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Gather inputs from customers and stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
- Present high-level overviews of the team's work, progress, and future plans
- Developing a strategy with the team that aligns with the current and future needs of the local business and the enterprise.
- Lead the team in executing the strategy, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of solutions.
- Monitor and track the team's progress, identifying and addressing any issues or obstacles.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data analytics engineering, and apply relevant knowledge to enhance the team's capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the team's performance, achievements, and challenges.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field.
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Understanding of data analytics concepts, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in developing and executing strategies based on customer needs and goals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- An excellent communicator who can engage and motivate diverse and geographically dispersed teams from various engineering disciplines
- Highly organised and able to work autonomously
- Skilled in leading through influence
