Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT&DA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic Data Analytics organization.

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a crucial role in empowering our business to make data-driven decisions by providing them with the tools and resources to query and analyze data. Your expertise will enable stakeholders to transform information into actionable insights quickly and efficiently.

With our governed self-service approach, both technical and non-technical users will have access to a comprehensive suite of data integration technologies, as well as query, reporting, visualization, and analytics capabilities across the entire enterprise.

In this role, you may collaborate with business users to provide data modeling and support self-service analytics through the implementation of best practices. You will primarily be supporting enterprise users who use the Business Intelligence (BI) as a Service platform for self-service analytics. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting user issues, help with performance tuning, design reviews, and creating data insights to understand user behavior and usage of our BI as a Service platform. Additionally, you will serve as a moderator of community-based knowledge support across the enterprise.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Supports Enterprise domain self-service analytics users: Commercial, Defense, and Aftermarket Services; Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety; Supply Chain, Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Corporate in helping to resolve issues and guide toward best practices
  • Partners with the design of Business Intelligence information models, dashboards, metrics and reports utilizing standard technologies and methodologies that meet business objectives and solutions
  • Combines programming, Structured Query Language (SQL) skills, data modeling, data engineering, best practices, and business acumen to deliver efficient and scalable Business Intelligence solutions as needed to improve business productivity and business outcomes
  • Builds and support advanced visualizations
  • Applies critical thinking and problem solving to evaluate usefulness of current solutions and provide recommendations.
  • Performs analysis to identify and understand an issue or event
  • Investigates evident issues through drill-down exploration and descriptive statistics
  • Assembles large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements, and create optimal data models
  • Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Stays updated on the latest best practices, changes, and trends in the Data Analytics Profession and Data Analytics Industry
  • Collaborates and organizes skills to work productively in a cross-functional, multi-level environment with shifting priorities and requirements
  • Creates and provides training relevant to Boeing's needs

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience with Tableau and Cognos
  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis algorithms (e.g. data mining, statistics, visual analytics, classification, regression, clustering, sentiment analysis)
  • 3+ years of experience working with engineering data
  • Experience with dashboards, reports, and KPIs
  • Experience using a variety of techniques and tools to analyze the data stored in databases, data warehouses and/or data marts
  • Experience working with data in relational databases and/or cloud environments
  • Experience coding in SQL, Python, Java, or R

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in data analytics and creating visualizations using data analytics tools such as Power BI, Adobe Analytics
  • Experience with Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML)/Extensible Markup Language (XML), or JAVA
  • Experience leveraging Toad Data Point, Meta Manager, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Big Query, Dataiku
  • Experience in the Aerospace/Manufacturing/Engineering or Information Technology industry
  • Experience with communication & collaboration skills
  • Experience leading large cross functional teams/projects involving standardization
  • Experience expressing complex technical concepts, both verbally and in writing, in an effective and understandable manner regardless of audience expertise level
  • Experience understanding and anticipating stakeholder requirements
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Experience interacting effectively with team members from non-technical disciplines
  • Experience with creating/improving processes and procedures to increase efficiencies

Typical Education & Experience:

Mid-Level (Level 3)

Typically, 5 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Senior (Level 4)

Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $88,400 - $127,650

Summary pay range for Senior: $112,200 - $162,150
