BDS Business Capture & Operations is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative Senior Manager (M Level) to lead all efforts related to Tools, Training & Development in support of the Business Development & Strategy function for BDS.

The successful candidate will report to the Business Capture & Operations Director. The individual, along with the team, will have responsibility for the design, development, monitoring, delivery and maintenance of all functional tools and processes deemed necessary for the successful planning, execution and capture of new business opportunities.

The position also has responsibility for the overall development of the people and tools needed to achieve/maintain the functional excellence for Business Development & Strategy through the development, delivery and maintenance of all training curriculum, instructional materials, feedback and learning management systems to include facilitation and presentation of Functional skill training in both in-person and virtual platforms, such as, but not limited to, Capture Team Leader, Integrated Business Acquisition Process (both domestic and international), Strategy and Business Case Analysis, Sales, Marketing and Customer interactions.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall development of the Business Development & Strategy functional skills through development of the people within the organization and enhancing the overall skillset and career paths with the function. This includes deployment of appropriate tools, process governance, coaching employees, consulting with business partners regarding ongoing needs to support the business units, and monitoring and evaluation performance needs and outcomes
  • Manages employees and managers who plan, develop, and manage various tools, processes, training content, materials and courses in support of the Business Development & Strategy function
  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date processes and procedures that incorporate all roles with Business Development & Strategy, to include appropriate distribution and training of personnel on following those disciplined processes
  • Manages the continual growth and improvement of the function's tools and processes, including Sales Force and any other tools implemented within the function
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers/consultants and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Works collaboratively with Business Development & Strategy stakeholders across the BDS Divisions in the identification, development, deployment and maintenance of the tools, processes, templates and training to enable successful new business captures
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers

The preferred work location is St. Louis, MO. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in St. Louis, while also traveling to various BDS locations in support of the Tools, Training & Development efforts.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • 3+ years of experience in a professional training environment utilizing adult learning principles, including instruction and development of course material
  • Experience in the acquisition environment within the US Department of Defense (DOD) and/or the Defense Industry
  • Leadership experience with multiple successful competitive campaigns
  • Effective communication, organizational and team-oriented skills
  • Strong organizational and/or project management skills required
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
  • Experience, and at least considered an intermediate user, with office tools such Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience leading sales activities internationally
  • Capable of traveling up to 50% of the time
  • Active Secret clearance or higher

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 50% of the time.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (Berkeley): $191,250 - $258,750

Summary pay range (El Segundo / Arlington): $204,850 - $277,150
