Boeing Defense Space & Security's Missile and Weapon Systems Organization is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced, and Senior Structural Analysis Engineers to join us as part of our Direct Attack team located in St. Charles, MO.

The Direct Attack organization is a strong and growing business that produces long-range precision guided weapons which are employed around the world to support the defense of the United States and partner countries. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to work on the world's most advanced variant of the combat-proven JDAM, SDB, HAAWC and MOP weapon systems. These programs are utilizing a Model Based Engineering approach to implement new weapon system configurations and replace obsolete or uneconomical parts. A Structural Analysis Engineer works as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and must have the ability to effectively communicate technical information and collaborate with engineers and leaders form a wide variety of engineering disciplines.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Performs stress analysis of structure using classical hand methods (including buckling, crippling, shear, tension)
  • Perform Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis using Boeing methodologies
  • Determine internal and external loads on a structure using free body diagrams
  • Build Finite Element Models to determine internal loads and locate stress concentrations
  • Create Stress Analysis reports
  • Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines (structural design, loads/dynamics, mass properties, materials & properties, thermal analysis, aerodynamics, etc.)
  • Support internal design reviews

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Saint Charles, MO.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Current active Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required,

accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range for associate level: $76,500 - $103,500

Summary pay range for mid-level: $95,200 - $128,800

Summary pay range for senior level: $115,600 - $156,400
