Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, Washington is seeking Associate Electronic Systems Safety Engineers to join the 777X/787 Common Core System (CCS) team. All projects focus on design, development, and production support of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) Platform Architecture and Airplane Electronic Hardware (AEH) & Software. Responsibilities include working with a worldwide supplier base to complete system safety analysis for the implemented system hardware and software.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the development and documentation of electronic and electrical system safety requirements
  • Supports system designs hardware, software and interface specifications based on safety requirements
  • Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with safety requirements
  • Assists in solving problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Assists in the completion of system safety analysis including failure modes and effects analysis and fault tree analysis

This position is expected to be primarily onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options but there will be some flexibility to work virtually as needed.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 2 or more years of experience with design engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams at multiple organizational levels in dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills; ability to work in agile, flexible team environment
  • Electrical, Mechanical or Computer engineering degree
  • Experience within Electronic Systems hardware and software design
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
  • Knowledge of FAA certification
  • Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program
  • Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment
  • Experience with system safety analysis including failure modes and effects analysis & fault tree analysis

Typical Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.)

Summary pay range: $71,000 - 127,000
