Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking 2nd Shift Production and Equipment Asset Designers to support the tooling for the 777-300ER, 777-200F, and 777-9X models of Boeing aircraft. As a Tool Designer, you will support a variety of tooling that is required to build the 777 fleet. This tooling is constantly reviewed for safety and compliance; several new engineers are needed to support production system improvements to safely produce quality aircraft reliably each time. This position will be ideal for an individual who is active, likes high pace environments, and can work on the shop floor to gather requirements then work to complete tooling updates to resolve issues while maintaining configuration control. This is a Liaison type position working critical tooling issues that arise in production and allow for safe installation of air craft parts out of sequence.

Our Teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior Equipment & Tool Designers.

Primary Responsibilities:

This is an equipment and tooling development, implementation, and improvement role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
  • Investigates basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
  • Researches designs to create and revise usage instructions. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analyzing data to identify solutions.
  • Maintains hardware and software configuration. Supports the disposition of equipment and tooling.
  • Self-checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Advanced education degree (e.g. Associate, vocational, certificate)
  • 1 or more years of experience with production systems in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to work 2nd shift

Preferred qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of CATIA or equivalent solid modeling experience.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques
  • Experience working in an Tooling Designer role
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • CATIA or equivalent solid modeling experience
  • Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
  • Experience working with Composites
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Mid-Level)
  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Senior Level)
Typical Education/Experience:

Associate Level: Advanced Degree (including but not limited to; Associates, Vocational, Certificate) in a production or manufacturing related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Associates+3 years' related work experience or 5 years' related work experience)

Mid-Level: Advanced Degree (including but not limited to; Associates, Vocational, Certificate) in a production or manufacturing related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Associates+5 years' related work experience or 7 years' related work experience)

Senior Level: Advanced Degree (including but not limited to; Associates, Vocational, Certificate) in a production or manufacturing related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Associates+9 years' related work experience or 11 years' related work experience)

Pay Range Summary:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
  • Associate (level 2): $56,950 - $77,050
  • Mid Level (level 3): $68,000 - $92,000
  • Senior (level 4): $80,750 - $109,250
