Purchasing & Warehouse Coordinator - Georgia

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain records of all fixed assets and purchase requisitions and obtain all necessary signatures for approval.

Deal directly with vendors to place orders and follow up on deliveries. Receive, store and issue all items, materials and equipment ordered by purchase order or furnished by a contractor. Ensure vendors comply with terms and conditions specified on purchase orders.

Assure all received items are properly inspected, accounted for, documented and stored.

Implement all purchasing and inventory management programs and procedures.

Coordinate with the appropriate supervisors to obtain personnel for repair and maintenance. Maintain and utilize computerized management system for inventory control purposes.

Complete special projects as directed by your supervisor.

If required, qualify as Plant Operator/Combustion Turbine Technician, with timeline determined by Plant Manager.

Maintain warehouse(s) in a clean and orderly manner.

Maintain the Avetta system (safety compliance) for all vendors performing work on site, with Plant Controller oversight.

Dependable, reliable and predictable attendance is required.

Must possess a valid, in-state motor vehicle operator's license at all times.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

This position operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties under general supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating procedures and guidelines. This position encounters regular, recurring work situations of moderate complexity.

The Purchasing/Warehouse Coordinator must maintain a professional, courteous relationship with vendors, work in a safe manner, and be in compliance with all environmental permits at all times.

This position must effectively communicate information to plant management relative to the purchasing process, condition of the warehouse and availability of material.

The position entails the utilization of a forklift for the loading, unloading and movement of various materials and equipment component parts. The Purchasing/Warehouse Coordinator will be required to maintain proper certification for operation of a forklift.

All employees have the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customer's needs are being met.

Education and Experience:

Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school. General accounting experience is highly desirable. Three years' purchasing experience required. Experience in warehouse work including shipping, receiving and inventory control is desirable. Experience in a mechanical trade is desirable. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Experience using computerized accounting and inventory control systems is required.

Stair/Ladder Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders on equipment at the plant. Must be able to walk on platforms at high altitudes (80 feet or higher)

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and pull or push equipment or materials. Moderate over-head reaching and lifting and grasping is necessary.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use phone system.

Working Conditions:

Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. Position will require a pre-employment physical examination and random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
