Job Overview

TE's Payroll teams prepare, document and disburse payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments. They evaluate current systems, and recommend and develop operating efficiency improvements. They also serve as liaison to employees and third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies, monitor and ensure proper documentation of employee benefit payments and deductions and prepare reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including items such as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities:
• Manages all aspects of Japan, Korea, Australia & New Zealand payroll processing and oversees the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
• Continuously reviews and enhances processes and implements changes
• Ensures quality customer service to employees and departments.
• Acts as advisor to managers and employees on payroll policies.
• Reviews audits and ensures accuracy and data integrity.
• Reviews operational metrics to monitor and improve performance.
• Collaborates on the development of new payroll policies and procedures.
• Ensures financial compliance with TE policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations.
• Manages the integration of mergers and acquisition for payroll.
• Keeps abreast of all Payroll regulatory related issues to ensure compliance.
• Overviews interprets local government tax rules and regulation to ensure compliance. Stays abreast of regulatory and policy changes affecting areas of responsibility.
• Payroll for International Assignees.
• Ensures adherence to budgetary guidelines and continuous improvement of Payroll programs and practices.
• Provides effective and efficient Payroll service and support within established budgets, principles and regulations, laws and employment standards.
• Supervises, motivates, assesses performance and develops of a team of Payroll employees.

Req. Experience/HR Knowledge:
• Bachelor degree (or equivalent); advanced degree preferred.
• Typically requires 8+ years of progressive Payroll experience in Japan and Korea and other Asian area
• Prior supervisory experience may be required.
• Based in Suzhou as preference.
• Fluent oral and written Japanese language capability for communication.
• Knowledge of Payroll law in Japan and Korea and other Asian area
• Breadth of experience in Payroll disciplines, including data management, metrics and measurement and operations.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Experience with tax systems and reporting preferred.
• Experience with time and attendance systems preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced financial principles.
• Prior experience in an international environment preferred.
