Position Overview

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. Additionally, this person will be responsible for establishing and enforcing proper accounting processes, policies and controls. The Assistant Controller will provide back-up support to other members of the Accounting team as needed.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee timely month-end close, including the review or updating of existing reconciliations
  • Support acquisition integration and purchase accounting when necessary
  • Develop and support international business growth and processes
  • Ensure state and local tax compliance, including registrations and accurate, timely filings
  • Assist with year-end audit activities, including PBC list management and auditor correspondence
  • Maintain and oversee the development of accounting policies and processes
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Occasional domestic travel required for in-person team, department, and company meetings

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA license required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with hiring, training, and supervising employees
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and 842
  • Experience with international operations
  • Experience with acquisition integrations and consolidations
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel required (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
  • General curiosity and inquisitive nature
