Job Description:

TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate,

government and institutional clients.

Our team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Fixed income and Derivatives tech platform implemented at TDS, mainly Calypso which is a product that is used as a cross-asset platform for trading, risk management, accounting and trade settlements. The platform is used by all the main business lines within TDS and in all our global offices. While the core platform is a vendor solution there is a large ecosystem of TD in-house developed components that have been built for TD's business requirements and integrations to other business systems. The team is primarily based in Toronto and currently looking to expand globally as part of the growth plans and to align to the needs of our users.

The technology stack that is in place today utilizes:

  • Java 8 for server-side components

Position Overview - Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineers to join the team to work on implementing solutions on expanding/enhancing the trading capabilities of the Calypso platform to support the planned business growth in Europe. As part of our team, you will contribute towards the future strategy and technology direction of our products, implement and maintain high quality code to best practices, take part in capacity planning and design activities, and work with colleagues within FI & Derivatives team and beyond to help deliver best-in-Class TD systems.

Key requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Strong Java Developer (7+ years' experience) needs to have experience designing/building distributed applications, JVM tuning, multi-threading
  • SQL Knowledge / Oracle DB
  • Linux (RedHat)
  • MQ
