Primary Job Description:
Reporting to the VP, Organization Effectiveness & Future Workforce, the Senior Manager, Organization Effectiveness Governance plays an important role in shaping the Bank's structure and enhancing its effectiveness. This position will be accountable for providing advice, challenge, and support to optimize business performance and enable the Bank to achieve our vision, purpose, and shared commitments.
Through deep expertise in organizational and regulatory governance, job architecture, job evaluation and organization design, the Senior Manager will serve as a thought partner and advisor to HR and business leaders in developing and executing organizational effectiveness goals. This individual will be accountable for linking forward-thinking advice with on-the-ground execution. It is critical that what is built, can be delivered, infused into the business, and measured by outcomes. The Senior Manager, Organizational Effectiveness Governance should display strong consulting, decision-making and problem-solving abilities; have experience navigating ambiguity within organizations of relevant scale and complexity, and will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of organizational effectiveness governance experts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance, development and support to team members to ensure the successful implementation of governance advice, support, and outcomes.
Policy & Governance: Ensure quality and consistency in the application of global TD organization effectiveness elements, such as OD methodology and standards, organization design health check measures, job evaluations, executive titling standards, etc. Balance challenge with advice and support, ensuring recommendations meet business needs and align with TD standards and best practices.
Regulatory & Oversight: Provide expertise, advice and counsel to ensure the bank's OE practices are aligned with regulatory expectations. Improve controls to ensure integrity of organization effectiveness processes, guidelines and policies.
Job Architecture Development: Engineer an enterprise-wide, sustainable governance framework for organization effectiveness, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment and application for strong organizational health. Work closely with HR and business leaders to establish and maintain consistent job architecture, including titles, levels, and career pathways.
Data-Driven Insights: Utilize metrics, workforce analytics, and feedback to inform design and governance decisions and advice in support of Bank strategic objectives.
Strategic Initiatives: Occasionally lead strategic organization effectiveness projects, from start to finish, including project scope and design, alignment of stakeholder expectations, project management, and timely project delivery.
Continuous Evolution: Drive measurable improvements in organizational effectiveness and governance methodology, processes, tools. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of governance initiatives and make data-driven decisions. Contribute to developing the HR community, helping to elevate capability across the Bank.
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant domain experience, ideally within financial services; consulting experience or knowledge of TD's business are assets
- University degree in HR, organizational development, business management, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced education in organization effectiveness is an asset
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations within the banking industry
- Strong understanding of job evaluation processes and Hay methodology
- Strong understanding of organization design practices and methodologies
- Familiar with HR Workday job architecture and position management principles
- Familiar with agile delivery and organizational design for agile-based organizations
- Strong consulting skills, anchored in problem solving, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data, critical analysis, and executive level reports/presentations
- Results-oriented project management skills with high attention to detail
- Strong analytical and communication skills to distill complex concepts and present actionable recommendations to senior leaders
- Track record of continuous improvement and innovation for the future
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint
