Job Description:

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for someone to join as Senior Developer Role in Zelle and RTP technology team. This role will focus on the design, development, and maintenance of applications that support real time payments products and services offered to our TD customers. You'll be exposed to stretch assignments as you take on large-scale, complex and/or enterprise-wide projects.

  • Application design and development activities
  • Development and support of Regulatory Reporting applications, either SaaS or TD hosted Java applications.
  • Hands-on Java/Springboot development
  • Troubleshooting production issues for Java applications as L3 support.
  • Analyze and evaluate technical aspects of projects, enhancements, fixes, and infrastructure changes to determine impact on interfacing systems.
  • Work with Vendors and internal IT Infrastructure Teams on currency-related upgrades.
  • Work with Vendors, internal IT Infrastructure Teams, and Business partners on the remediation of audit findings and vulnerabilities to ensure adhere to TD's security controls and standards.
  • Support the Business and Operations Teams during UAT testing for the Vendor's Production releases.
  • Support UAT testing including assisting with lower environment setup between application and downstream systems. Help resolve technical issues and where necessary, log defects on Vendor ticketing system.
  • Document and diagram data and process flows as well as infrastructure components.
  • Maintenance of proper artifact repositories for audit purposes.
  • Coordinate digital certificate renewals in all environments.
  • Set the technical direction for the product and influence the overall architectural direction
  • Communicate design goals to the developers of the team
  • Identify and leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery
  • Help drive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes
  • Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation
  • Continually drive to improve the product and the customer experience
  • Provide leadership on the development of a robust and efficient application
  • Lead, Inspire and Mentor team members on the use of Software Development best practices and Agile practices

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years relevant experience and readiness to manage a sizeable group or team of IT professionals responsible for development/solutions design and/or system enhancements, new releases, or project deliverables with increasing complexity of moderate to broad scope.
  • Proven success in problem solving and producing strategies and plans for operational improvement.
  • Expert knowledge of the business, technology standards, managing people and projects.
  • 5+ years of experience programming with Spring Boot 2, Spring Data (JPA, JDBC), Java 8, Scala, Spring Security (OAuth, LDAP).
  • Practical experience designing and developing web-services using modern practices/techniques including Domain-Driven Design, Event Storming, Event Sourcing and CQRS.
  • Experience with development tools and frameworks such as Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Nexus.
  • A passion for simplifying and automating work, for making things better, for being efficient and helping others
  • Knowledge of SSO, MFA, PingFed, OIDC, OAuth.
  • Able to keep up to date with emerging technology industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to establish a good rapport with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Excellent collaboration skills as well as the ability to work efficiently under minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow up on issues independently and ensure they are resolved promptly, escalating when necessary.
  • Self-starter, detailed-oriented and organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to multi-task effectively within a fast-paced environment.

The IT Senior Developer TDS provides a broad range of system solutions development to business problems through the development and programming of applications / systems.

Depth & Scope:

  • Responsible for analyzing a broad range of business requirements, conducting program / system research and analysis to identify key components for solutions delivery and problem resolution
  • Develops new applications and performs unit / component test for new application development initiatives aligned to business needs and in accordance with technology architecture standards
  • Ensures effective communication of solutions development requirements for respective area and contributes to project plans, estimations, timelines and status updates to support management team / clients on prioritizing new and existing projects against IT requirements and business objectives
  • Informs key stakeholders of any issues that may impact other areas of the project and resolves or escalates issues as required
  • Supports business inquiries and business activities through execution of small enhancements and break / fix implementations (e.g. source code changes)
  • Works with Business Analysts / Systems Analysts, other technology Developers / Solution Designers to ensure the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals
  • Creates and maintains quality code, ensures defect free programming consistent with standards; provides code maintenance and supports during testing cycles and post-production deployment and participate in reviewing peer coding
  • Adheres to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities
  • Participates in identifying and recommending development / testing solutions / tools in support of project / application objectives
  • Completes unit and integration testing for conformance to standards and adherence to design specifications
  • Complies with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines by participating in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis
  • Assists in the development / maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues and participate in problem determination and timely resolution of incidents applying appropriate quality measures
  • Perform Systems Administration of applications / environments supported by the LOB, monitors application / service performance, and performs configuration, backup, authentication & tuning
  • Ensure both state-of-health monitoring and monthly SLA targets are in place, and are being met
