Department Overview
The Wealth Management Finance team is responsible for delivering key financial functions for TDBG's Wealth Management business. These include business planning, financial analysis, performance measurement, and strategic decision support.
This team collaborates closely with Wealth Management business units and TDBG's centralized finance teams to provide expert financial advice aligned with the bank's overarching financial goals. Within Wealth Finance, the PWM/FP Finance team specifically supports the Private Wealth Management and Financial Planning businesses.
Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Group Manager, FP Finance, this role is primarily responsible for supporting management reporting through regular month-end activities, as well as contributing to forecasting, planning, and various ad hoc requests. The role is instrumental in analyzing business performance, supporting strategic priorities, and delivering insights that inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis and evaluation of business performance against reference points (e.g., plan, prior year, business cases).
- Support the development of reporting to monitor progress against business initiatives and perform competitive analysis across relevant metrics.
- Provide meaningful and relevant financial data, guidance, and recommendations to business partners and stakeholders.
- Provide input for monthly reporting, quarterly forecasting and annual planning.
- Collaborate with FinOps and specialized Finance teams to improve report production, data tracking, and financial analysis processes.
- Assist with process improvements and automation opportunities to increase operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Completion of projects/initiatives, insightful analytics and ad hoc requests as required.
- Act as subject matter expert (trusted matter expert) for own area and provide guidance / advice and recommendations to support interactions with internal / external partners
Job Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to deliver insightful financial analysis and build trusted advisory relationships with stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of financial accounting, reporting structures, and control frameworks.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Hyperion, Oracle, or EPM is considered a strong asset.
Education & Accreditation
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial analysis, planning, or reporting.
- Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, or MBA is an asset.
