Department Overview
The Global Compliance Program promotes and fosters a strong culture of integrity, ethics and regulatory compliance, and provides independent oversight of the management of regulatory compliance risk.
Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance Reporting, this role plays a pivotal part in supporting the Compliance Reporting function by coordinating governance documentation, managing risk reporting processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate the review and update of Global Compliance documents (e.g. Mandates), including, managing the review and feedback process.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual risk management reporting.
- Provide support on Senior Management and Board reporting including the Board & Committee Reporting tool.
- Proactively identify matters requiring additional review, escalation and liaise with appropriate team members/stakeholders to resolve, as appropriate.
- Develop subject matter expertise for the role including understanding processes/protocols, frameworks, standards, governing regulation and best industry practices, and provide direction to others as needed.
- Review existing processes for enhancement opportunities and recommend areas for improvement.
- Support the development of and refresh of procedures and job aids.
- Assist with strategic initiatives/special projects, act as lead for small scale projects.
- Manage reporting deliverable calendar of the CCO / VP / AVP for their approval of reporting deliverables and understand report content to help facilitate executive signoff.
- Work closely with Reporting Manager and support workback plan activities, support plan updates/refresh as required to ensure reporting materials are housed in the correct folders.
- Manage the Reporting Team's shared mailbox including responding to inquiries.
- Participate fully as a member of the team supporting a positive work environment; be willing to assist others in the completion of reporting activities.
Job Requirements
- Well-developed organizational and business awareness
- Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly; ability to tailor messaging based on target audience.
- Exercise critical thinking and attention to detail in all tasks
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities while driving deliverables to completion in a timely manner
- Strong team player: ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong relationship building skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced or ambiguous environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Must be self-motivated, energetic and results-oriented and be committed to adding value to the organization
- Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team.
- Skilled in report design.
- Expert in Microsoft Office Suites: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
Education and Accreditation
- University degree is preferred.
- 5+ years relevant experience or experience in Compliance would be an asset.
- Strong reporting and communications background preferred.
