Job Description
The Residential Subrogation team is responsible for ensuring that residential subrogation opportunities, payments and liability negotiations are executed with third party insurers correctly, expediently, diligently and within service levels. Reporting directly to the Group Manager, Residential Subrogation analyst oversees their own pending list of subrogation claims, gathers evidence to prove liability, and compiles payments to support quantum. Subrogation Analysts also works with contractors, engineers, and various partners in Claims Support Services, Claims, BOC, and other lines of businesses. The Residential Subrogation analyst oversees significant operational recoveries with overall accountability for the key performance and day-to-day management of their pending files/activities. Key job duties will include:
• Recovery of indemnity payments, which includes the investigation, evaluation, and timely resolution of moderately complex claims within their area of focus and authority;
• Handles moderately complex claims with moderate risk level that can typically be resolved in 2-24 months
• Requires next level approval for claims in excess in their claim settlement authority limit
• Completes work with guidance and direction from management as necessary
• Sound knowledge of the operating environment and business process and procedures, and transactions lifecycle for own area
• Review Residential files and understand payouts
• Present Residential claims payouts to at fault third parties; proving liability and negotiating
• Ensure personal performance meets minimum claims operational performance standards

The TD Insurance GI Claims Recovery Team is responsible for delivering legendary customer experience through simple, fast and fair claims and subrogation resolution while ensuring financial results by focusing on the client experience, strong risk management, a well-run operating model, and being an extraordinary place to work.
Job Requirements
• Residential Claims experience is highly beneficial
• Litigation experience is preferred
• Collections experience along with either legal or insurance claims experience
• Knowledge of financial collections practices, litigation protocols and application jurisprudence is highly beneficial
• Strong negotiation skills require
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Superior client service orientation and excellent telephone manner
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
• Ability to contribute and work effectively in a team environment
• Strong typing and computer skills
• Travel mostly within the city is required for mediation, pre-trial, etc.
