Job Description:
The Head of US Enterprise Risk Governance (ERM) leads the overall development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of the bank's ERM framework and associate programs. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the bank effectively identifies, assesses, monitors, reports and prioritizes risks across the enterprise.

Depth & Scope:
- Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork, and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
- Owns and drives BAU enterprise risk management programs, ensuring they are robust, effective, and aligned with organizational goals
- Develops, owns, maintains and enhances the ERM governance framework for the Bank, including risk identification, assessment, standards, monitoring, mitigation and reporting practices, where appropriate working in close partnership with respective business leaders and management; Identifies good industry practice for formalization in Policy Framework; Develops an implementation strategy and delivers appropriate implementation of Policy Framework activities across the organization; Develops process for review and appropriate monitoring and reporting
- Leads development and advancement of enterprise governance practices for the Bank, including Risk Identification, Risk Acceptances, Concentration Risk Management and Reporting
- Leads the development and maintenance of the Committee Governance Framework, including TD's executive and management oversight committee structure
- Partners with business units, compliance, internal audit, and other key stakeholders to ensure risk programs are integrated across the enterprise.
- Oversees the enterprise risk assessment process, facilitating identification and evaluation of material risk, emerging risk themes, and control effectiveness
- Supports the tracking and resolution of risk-related findings, action plans and risk events
- Promotes a strong risk culture through education, training and effective communication of risk policies and procedures
- Leads automation and process efficiency efforts for Enterprise Risk management
- Acts as subject matter expert at TD Bank on the implementation of enterprise risk management programs
- Requires a broad managerial and deep specialized knowledge of ERM issues at the business, regulatory, and industry levels
- Identifies key risks and implications and provides direction in complex situations
Education & Experience:
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- 15+ years related experience required
- Ability to coach, counsel, train, and lead staff
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations and industry standards (e.g., OCC, FRB, FDIC)
- Excellent leadership, project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactically
- High integrity, sound judgement, and a strong sense of accountability.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize and react to discrepancies
- Strong relationship building skills and the ability to develop and maintain business contacts at all levels of management throughout the organization
- Very good communications skills both written and verbal as well as the ability to develop business communications calling for specific action
- Effective presentation skills, including the ability to present to regulators, executive management, and the Board of Directors
- Strong ability to influence the decisions and actions of others without express authority
- Strong ability to analyze information and business situations and effectively collaborate with business partners on overall corporate direction
- A senior risk professional experienced in the identification and escalation of risk issues from a variety of subject areas
