Job Description:
Job Role/Responsibilities
As a member of the Fixed Income trading team, you will mainly be responsible for UST market making & risk taking along with CAD FI products, namely CAN government bonds, Provincials, Swaps, and CMBS. Familiarity in other FI products like MBS, TIPs, SSA, and Covered Bonds would be very helpful. The seat is demanding at times, watching risk into LDN and US sessions. Communication and coordination between Toronto, New York, and London offices will be extremely important in the build out of the TD franchise not only in Asia, but globally. Existing account relationships across Asia & prior experience interacting/trading with large Japanese banks. It would be beneficial for the candidate to speak Japanese to act as point person and liaise with colleagues/clients in Japan - a targeted growth area for the bank but not a requirement. It would also be beneficial for the individual to be tech savvy as we look to implement and improve efficiencies of the desk, with a focus on improved e-trading functionalities.
Job Requirements
- University degree, preferably in financial engineering, mathematics, science, or technology/engineering
- Combined 5+ years of trading experience- preferably in cash products
- Material risk trading experience
- Experience in trading in a range of currencies also helpful
- Strong track record of working across jurisdictions
- Collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and commitment
- Programming skills (VBA, R / Python, or other programming languages) an asset
