Job Description
The GI Reinsurance department is responsible for ensuring insurance risk is appropriately mitigated by putting in place and manage the reinsurance structures, in line with TD Insurance's risk appetite. Another Key responsibility is to evaluate the actuarial reserve / ultimate cost of catastrophic loss events when they occur. In addition, the GI Reinsurance department is responsible for providing periodic financial reporting of reinsurance related results.
In the role, the candidate will have to:
- Responsible for the execution of reinsurance's monthly financial reporting, including the monthly analysis and evaluation of amounts recoverable from reinsurers. Work with Finance on any issues that arise.
- Participate in the annual reinsurance treaty renewal process, participate in the review of the reinsurance strategy
- Participate in the forecasting of losses as part of budget planning and periodic follow-ups
- Rigorously apply the business' governance principles, including SOX and EUC controls, audits and model validation processes
- Develop relationships with our partners in the Claims department in order to better understand the claim lifecycle and establish monitoring processes
- Assist in presenting reinsurance to various internal partners, inform them of their potential impact on reinsurance future needs or cost
- Create and maintain well-structured reusable tools
- Develop responses ad-hoc requests

Job Requirements
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Actuarial, mathematics, statistics or Data science.
- Experience in Analytics, Statistical Analysis
- Experience in P&C insurance
- Working toward designation of ACAS or FCAS
- Advance technical skills (ex.: R, Python, Tableau, Excel, VBA)
- Demonstrate knowledge of financial statements, the insurance industry and Reinsurance concepts
- Client-oriented and superior communication skills
- Bilingual (English/French)
- Known for the quality of his/her work product, strong attention to details and rigor
- Analytical mindset, team spirit, innovative
