JOB SUMMARY

Manage all aspects of projects, from start to finish, so that they are completed on time and within budget. These could be but are not limited to projects for facility layout/design, rack configuration, facility capacity analysis, facility space requirements and forecasting, automation, and distribution systems. Must be able to design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing the projects; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the projects. This may include preparing designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Liaise with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the projects. Implement critical thinking throughout the process of the projects cycle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
  • Analyze and evaluate business requirements of distribution operations in areas of space utilization requirements, capacities, slotting of product, determining racking requirements, product flow, and materials handling in both warehouse and delivery.
  • Utilize Problem Solving abilities to identify, define, and resolve specific problems pertaining to assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with interdepartmental teams to design, develop, and price conceptual facility layouts.
  • Construct, maintain, and analyze large data sets across various platforms including excel, tableau, and database applications.
  • Provide recommendations for development and streamlining of facility planning tools and methodologies.
  • Prepare materials and conduct meetings with various internal and external departments to communicate changes, statuses, and the outcomes of projects.
  • Keep informed on industry and facility innovations and technologies
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time.
  • Additional responsibilities may include additional planning, modeling, and analysis activities related to facility or supply chain planning.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 - 5 years' experience in Facility Planning, Supply Chain, Operations, inventory management, Procurement or equivalent

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, and advanced formulas) required
  • Tableau (mapping, dashboard creations, LOD functions) preferred
  • Experienced with Database querying (SQL, Python, etc.) preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam preferred
  • Microsoft office applications
  • Strong analytical skills with critical thinking
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work on a cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency in multi-tasking, prioritizing, communicating, and adapting to change
  • High emotional intelligence to support strong interpersonal and communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
