Role

The Reliability Engineer will be a critical contributor in Beam Suntory's global growth agenda with continued improvements in engineering, asset care, and production expansion. You will also have an opportunity to become a key leader of Beam Suntory's North American engineering and asset care improvements. There will also be cross functional aspects of the role that will provide holistic exposure & experience in bourbon making, from distillation, maturation through to barrel finishing & processing.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations, adhering to life cycle cost processes.
  • Leads root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) to identify and resolve recurring equipment failures.
  • Develop and implement new assets, preventive maintenance plans, job tasks, and spare parts lists to optimize asset utilization and performance.
  • Utilize advanced Six Sigma tools (DMAIC), Value Stream Mapping, and Process FMEA to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in training staff to develop their expertise in reliability engineering and maintenance practices.
  • Works with engineers and equipment manufacturers to ensure initial design and re-design of machinery with focus on reliability mindset.
  • Assist in development of SOPs and train maintenance and operators on SOPs.
  • Initiative-taking professional development expected in related areas through seminars, conferences, and formal training.
  • Provides backfill coverage for management relief in the Maintenance.
  • Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and engineering personnel.
  • Compliance and Safety: Focus on safety audits and compliance with regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Reliability Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, project engineering, or maintenance supervision, preferably in the food processing or chemical industry.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Supervisor or manager experience in a skilled trade
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to read and produce flow diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work in a unionized environment and adapt to varying physical demands.
Additional Qualifications and Experience
  • Possess a valid driver's license, for driving to remote plants.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to walk moderate distances - up to one mile.
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold for short periods of time.
  • Must have adequate vision to take field measurements, use computers, and read drawings and maps.
  • Must be able to stay on work site for extended periods of time when required.
  • Must be able to read and write in English as it pertains to job duties
