This is an exciting role within our Packaging Development team and we are looking for someone with packaging experience, the ability to influence and work off their own initiative as well as a great team player. We're a growing and diverse team that's moving forward, building on our rich past to grow new opportunities for the future.
Role Responsibilities
PURPOSE & SCOPE OF ROLE:
· Development of components from design concept to first shipment
· Responsible for facilitating packaging solutions in innovation, sustainability and quality.
· Setting standards of quality and communicating specifications for new products
· Managing material line trials and the interface with Bottling, Engineering and Quality
· Project management at the component level to ensure to ensure smooth introduction of projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Developing new components in conjunction with suppliers ensuring the compatibility and functionality with other components.
· Provide packaging technical expertise to the business advising Marketing, Design and engineering on what is and not feasible.
· Risk mitigation through identifying, investigating, testing, trialing all components. Escalating risks to the NPD Manager and Project Manager.
· Maintaining material specifications to ensure they are fit for purpose from a technical, graphical, legal & environmental viewpoint and to the expected quality and cost parameters.
· Managing Item Master Data for Cased Goods and Dry Goods ensuring correct data is visible as required to all departments.
· Key point of contact for stakeholders across the business for your projects. Key interfaces include Procurement, Marketing, Innovation, Global Project Managers, Engineering, Bottling and Quality.
· Offering technical expertise and solutions in sustainability for all new packs.
· Visiting suppliers, signing off print standards, samples and driving positive engagement
Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience
· Minimum 2 years Packaging Development Experience
· Institute of Packaging Certificate/Diploma IOM3 desirable
· Experience of Material Quality Standards and setting Specifications
· Educated to degree level in a STEM, Design or similar subject.
