We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced partnership manager and activation specialist to join our Global Client Coverage Research Center team. This strategic role involves developing and managing relationships with key partners and clients to enhance State Street Global Advisors' (GA) business growth and client/partner satisfaction through the activation of significant research initiatives, leading to collaborative and mutually beneficial engagements.

You should possess an understanding of the wealth management industry and have deep experience building powerful thought leadership programs and marketing, compelling research-driven content that drives change and creates educational value. Success in this role comes down to how you use the content to help GA stand out and connect with stakeholders while driving forward strategic initiatives.

You will be responsible for empowering internal client-facing teams, strategic partners (index and sub-advisory relationships) and clients (institutions, employers, and financial intermediaries, alongside the investors under their care) with insights into the key themes impacting investors worldwide to create a competitive advantage and enable sales development.

Due to the responsibilities of this role, this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.

As a Senior Research Program Manager, Partnerships & Activation, you will:

  • Commit to the Research Center's measures of success contributing to GA business growth:

1- Being the preferred provider and creating better outcomes for clients

2 - Increasing client/partner engagement to build awareness and loyalty

3 - Moving beyond transactional sales to grow share of wallet and enable the Global Client Coverage team to drive assets under management and annualized net new revenue

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and change to develop a forward-looking Research Center content roadmap, setting strategic direction in partnership with your peer, Senior Program Manager, Market Intelligence, and overseeing the execution of all initiatives relating to partner and client activation.
  • Partner effectively across the organization. You will listen, influence, and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to enrich the creation of the research agenda, ensuring a holistic market landscape view and fostering alignment between research outcomes and GA business strategy.
  • Think outside the box in how the Research Center delivers and activates high quality content on relevant topics that our clients and partners really care about. There is no one-size-fits-all approach in how we collaborate, and share experiences, expertise, and knowledge to engage clients and partners at a deeper level.
  • Identify unique integration opportunities in alignment with the research agenda to elevate application of the primary insights. For example, a shared research initiative with an industry organization, tailored delivery of research at a key client firm's conference, or facilitation of a best practices roundtable discussion with a strategic partner at their leadership retreat.
  • Utilize your sales and marketing expertise to activate primary research content and enhance market penetration. This includes working seamlessly with GA public relations and marketing and content teams to develop go-to-market strategies that break through the noise, delivering on two key objectives: (1) Empower our clients with in-depth analysis and strategic recommendations to enable sales development and foster client loyalty, and (2) Build preference among financial media, positively influencing brand perceptions and buying behavior.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the Research Center, working with the business to identify areas of opportunity and improvement. This includes a quarterly business review deliverable and annual assessment against key performance indicators.
  • Manage the Assistant Research Project Manager, AVP on the Research Center team. You will bring a track record of identifying, attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
  • Deliver risk excellence and comply with the sales supervision culture that demonstrates and promotes the highest ethical standards.

  • Strong understanding of market research and thought leadership and able to construct a compelling narrative from data insights
  • Self-starter, full of tenacity, persistence, and resilience, with the ability to work cross-functionally across a large organization
  • Well organized, and can move multiple projects forward while keeping everyone aligned
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to speak/write clearly and persuasively with ability to present to peers and leaders with confidence and poise
  • Curious and inquisitive with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • A passionate learner, thought leader, and sale enabler
  • Willing to travel for client engagements and activation programs (25%-30%)

Education & preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in sales and marketing, ideally in the wealth management sector, with a proven track record of success in building sales enablement initiatives as well as managing relationships with senior decision-makers.
