What client relationship manager is responsible for:

As a Client Relationship Manager, your role is to make contribution to achieve sales targets through ensuring our clients receive the most relevant advice and solutions from SSGA that will help them achieve their goals. You will be responsible for increasing customer satisfaction and being well-versed in SSGA's culture and vision, investment philosophy and capabilities, services and operational services, and effectively communicating each to customers in a compelling manner. You must also build strong relationships across the broader sales, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams.

New client and account onboarding and offboarding:

  • Negotiate legal documents for funds managed by SSGA and arrange execution with external/ internal parties (Investment management agreement, fund prospectus etc.)
  • Lead and complete client/ fund onboarding process toward the fund launch.
  • Coordinate SSGA parties including off-shore locations and other external entities (administrator, custodian, trustee, brokers) and resolve issues pre/post fund launch.

BAU:

  • Act as first point of contact for the requests, inquiries from our Japanese clients and resolve with assistance by SSGA team.
  • Acknowledge daily, AHOC fund subscription and redemption orders from investors for subsequent process by operation, investment team.
  • Client/ portfolio report preparation including compliance review and delivery (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, ADHOC)
  • Process fund distribution and manage distribution policies for the existing accounts.
  • Arrange regular investment review meetings and materials.
  • Organize to respond to client RFP/ RFI
  • Prepare and organize client events, such as training, due diligence visits to on/off-shore locations.
  • Liaise fund auditors and prepare requested data/ report for annual financial reporting purpose.
  • Prepare answers to annual fund governance questionnaires from fund trustee and participate meeting.
  • Act as the escalation point to resolve business/service issues.

New business:

  • Accompany account executive in the series of new business discussion with client and assist SSGA team for successful onboarding.

Skills required:

  • Relationship management skills (both clients and internal parties)
  • Ability to negotiate and influence others to achieve goals.
  • Act with own judgement based on the experiences and try to complete tasks/ issues without relying on instructions from others.
  • Self-starter

Education and preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Japanese native and English bilingual (written/verbal) and +10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent communication skills for client negotiation and internal communication
  • Asset management experiences in preferred, particularly client service and relationship management
  • Good personality to be easily accepted by clients and SSGA team.
  • Attitude to keep updating themself in changing market environment.
