Lead Storage Migration Engineer

Lead Storage Migration Engineer (a/k/a Application, Infrastructure & Service Management) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, MA): Will utilize a strong foundation in open systems data storage to plan, organize, schedule, and execute large-scale storage migration activities. Will apply solid communication and presentation skills in combination with well-rounded technical skills in Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), EMC and Netapp. Specific duties of the position include: working with fellow IT resources and vendors to plan, organize, schedule, and execute storage migration activities in support of State Street Lifecycle methodology; managing HDS enterprise arrays (including (HUSVM, G-Series, and F-Series); managing EMC storage arrays (including (VMAX, VNX, PowerMax); applying strong system administration knowledge and deep knowledge of host-based migrations utilizing Veritas mirroring technology; managing GAD Storage Migration and performance using different HDS tools like Ops center Administrator, Analyzer, Automator, and Data protector; installation of HDS Ops center servers across the globe to manage storage operations and performance; applying Storage Automation for day-to-day storage administration and migration tasks using HDS Ops center Automator; managing EMC Non disruptive Migration from VMAX to Powermax arrays using Metro based NDM migration; planning migration of ESX hosts from version ESXi 5.5 to ESXi 6.5; applying understanding of end-to-end storage infrastructure within Storage Area Networks; reviewing and mitigating support matrix utilizing understanding of interoperability with non-supported technologies within an environment; understanding and troubleshooting Host Path issues which come up during migrations; applying knowledge of pre-migration host planning and design OS and volume management remediation; applying scripting knowledge with Bash , PowerShell to automate day-to-day tasks; documentation of best practices for HDS and EMC storage technologies; and applying experience with Brocade and Cisco Fabrics. Less than 5% domestic travel required. Full time telecommuting from within the U.S. permitted pursuant to Company policy.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, plus 5 years hands on experience in management of HDS enterprise arrays (5000 series, G-series, F-series). Alternatively, will accept a, Master's degree, or its equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, plus 3 years hands on experience in management of HDS enterprise arrays (5000 series, G-series, F-series).

Must have: proven knowledge of HDS, HUR, and GAD; proven experience with Hitachi Non-Disruptive storage migrations technology; experience with EMC Non-Disruptive storage migrations technology; and strong verbal and written ability. (Unless otherwise indicated, State Street is seeking the stated ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years or amount of experience required. All experience can be gained concurrently.)

Salary Range:
$169,104 - $190,000 Annual
