State Street Internship Program


State Street's Internship Program provides an excellent opportunity to work and learn about our organization, our culture and how we do business on a day-to-day basis. Apart from on-the-job training, you will join other interns in a coordinated learning program that comprises of an induction program and series of "lunch and learn" sessions, to provide you with an overview of our organization and our products. You will be paired up with a 'buddy', who can offer you their experience, knowledge, and guidance throughout the internship. Very often, interns who perform and exceed expectations will be considered for hiring on the full-time regular positions after or even during the program.

We are looking for candidates who can work minimum 30 hours per week.
Our internship program's duration is 5 months and it starts on April 22nd and July 1st.

Full-time early career opportunities

As a graduate to State Street you will have the possibilities to discover services provided to institutional clients by State Street Bank International as well as chance of being hired into a number of departments across the company.

Outlined below as some of the departments currently looking for new employees:

Information Technology and Operations Transformation - the unit is providing business analysis, application development and testing and system implementation services to the EMEA region initiatives. IT specialists can perform one of the following functions: QA Engineer, Software Engineer, Database Engineer, Software Developer, IT Auditor, Data Engineer or Business Analyst.

Alternative Investment Solutions - teams deliver suite of fund accounting/administration, investor services, middle office trade support and risk services for Hedge, Private Equity and Real Assets

Corporate Audit - our third line of defense; function responsible for independent and objective assessments of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls

Investment Compliance - function responsible for monitoring if the funds invest in accordance with the law and prospectus guidelines. Scope of activities includes: services for Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, France and Swizerland in the areas of fund accounting data analysis and clients reports analysis. Securities Lending Team monitors compliance of securities lending and collateral processes.

Fund Accounting - teams work on preparation, calculation and verification of Net Asset Value (NAVs) of investment funds; function provides comprehensive bookkeeping, monitoring and reporting of funds' activities.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) - the common tasks of the team focus on providing compliance oversight, performing onboarding and periodic reviews (risk profiling of the customers from money-laundering perspective), reporting any suspicious activities or building relationships with the clients based on "Know Your Customer" approach.

Financial Reporting - responsible for preparing financial statements for annual and interim cycle. They also prepare and complete first draft of audited annual and unaudited interim financial statements from trial balance including Profit and Loss Account Balance Sheet Cash Flow Schedule of Investments notes to financial statements.

Corporate Actions/Middle Office Transaction Management - responsible for processing trade file submitted by the Fund daily on trade-date confirmation (electronic telephonic or hardcopy) based upon the trade file transmitted by the Fund.

Depositary Services - responsible for an oversight of fund operations, both from NAV calculation and Investment Manager perspective.

Key Investor Information Document (KIID) - Krakow KIID Team works closely with the Client Service team in Luxembourg to service clients across EMEA region with regards to a Key Investor Information Documents (simplified prospectus).

Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) - is a division of finance, FSSC was established in Krakow to provide accounting financial analysis, and regulatory reporting services for the European State Street sites. Global Accounting Operations, Global Billing Operations or Treasury team are part of the department.

Enterprise Risk Management - ensures that State Street's risks are proactively identified, well-understood, and prudently managed in support of our business strategy.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in finance-related discipline would be an asset, but we are open for graduates in various disciplines
