Who we are looking for

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record, who generates new revenues for the company with institutional partners. The candidate should

  • Have a detailed understanding of the asset servicing market and services provided
  • Have a built a network of decision-makers and easily connect to organizations
  • Be excellent in listening to the needs of prospective and existing clients
  • Be able to identify solutions matching these needs, based on a comprehensive shelf of services
  • Have very good presentation skills
  • Be able to support the corporate decision-making process in order to achieve the desired outcome
  • Have experience in managing and navigating the internal organization to create and form the right solutions for the prospective clients

The role requires an open mind set and a strong willingness to embrace the clients perspective. The Business Development Manager will work with virtual teams, consisting of a variety of executives and subject matter expert's across the segments we serve (including asset managers, asset owners, insurers, alternatives, official institutions), which are dynamically assigned based on the specific needs of the targeted prospects.

The team you will be joining is a part of State Street Institutional Services and its Sales & Client Coverage group. This position will directly generate new business revenues through driving execution of State Street's institutional sales strategy with target prospects and existing partners primarily within Germany. In line with State Street's vision to achieve a digital enterprise, covering the full front-to-back value chain, the role champions our ongoing strategic transformation towards a fully customer centric client coverage and service organization.

What you will be responsible for

As a Business Development Manager Vice President you will

  • Establish and cultivate relationships at target organizations, initiate and lead interactions aimed at understanding their unique situation, challenges and expectations and work towards shaping solutions that meet those expectations, generating and reaping opportunities to grow business
  • Proactively lead and manage sales processes from prospecting to close, including leading generation, client meetings, prospect qualifications, RFP completion and deal negotiations
  • Manage dynamically virtual teams of executives and subject matter experts through all aspects of the sales cycle
  • Support the Head of Coverage with management of the overall pipeline, including target prioritization and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with relevant management and company resources to sharpen our proposition and differentiate our solution along a consistent storyline
  • Work closely with relationship management, RfP team, country heads, product managers, legal and risk to align opportunities with corporate goals

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree, Masters degree (or equivalent) preferred
  • 3-5+ years relevant experience
  • Deep financial services background and experience
  • Asset servicing experience is a plus but not a must
