Director, Domains Marketing

We are looking for a Marketing Director to lead the growth of Squarespace Domains. For over two decades, Squarespace has defined the future of web design and helped entrepreneurs make their ideas and passions an online reality. At the same time, Squarespace has grown into one of the world's biggest domain providers, with millions of customers entrusting Squarespace with a vital part of their online brand identity - their domain.

Alongside leading the growth of the Squarespace Domains business through new customer acquisition, you'll work closely with the Head of Domains to help with the smooth transition of millions of Google Domains customers to Squarespace following the deal to acquire the business last year. This role offers the chance to build and lead the marketing of a product that's essential for every small business, entrepreneur, or individual with a creative idea. You will report to Squarespace's Chief Marketing Officer and work from our New York City office (hybrid).

You'll Get To...

  • Construct and execute a marketing plan to grow the Squarespace Domains business sustainably and globally
  • Help sculpt a product brand that brings the website values that Squarespace is renown for (design, transparency) to the world of domains, then elevate brand visibility through marketing communications
  • Define and build a program of partnership marketing with key organizations in the domains industry
  • Collaborate with Squarespace's other marketing functions including a media team to measure and optimize campaign effectiveness, working in a shared service model of support
  • Work closely with Product Management and Product Marketing to maximize the impact of product launches, demonstrating their value to existing users and utilizing them as a tool to attract new customers
  • Use data analytics to identify KPIs and create testing plans that drive continuous improvements
  • Manage marketing spend and track results against goals such as revenue, CAC, LTV, ROI, and other product strategies that improve acquisition, and retention
  • Partnering with Analytics, UX research, and CRM to construct a framework to introducing domains customers to other Squarespace products and optimize in an ongoing manner that supports user engagement and LTV

Who We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of marketing experience focused on growth, brand, and partnerships
  • Experience working for a B2C tech or SaaS company
  • Previous experience building and overseeing marketing budgets, allocating resources to high-impact channels and campaigns
  • The ability to evaluate and build a roster of growth-focused partnerships to engage with on promotional and co-marketing programs that align with Squarespace brand values
  • Deep understanding of organic and paid user funnels, with experience owning programs that directly drive acquisition
  • Familiarity with performance marketing metrics (CPM, CPI, CPA, CPC& LTV) and adept at using data for campaign optimization
  • A proven track record of being able to work cross-functionally and represent marketing with senior partners across Product, Finance, Business Development, and Analytics.
  • Comfort in creating insights materials and marketing briefs to engage with a world-class Creative organization and provide feedback on creative materials that will be used in campaign and brand work
  • Experience in attracting, retaining, and developing outstanding marketing talent

Cash Compensation Range: $204,000 - $285,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
