VP, Category Sales
This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
Reporting into our Chief Revenue Officer, the Vice President of Category Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing Spectrum Reach's client direct category strategies. The VP Category Sales will strategically plan, define tactics, manage the category team, and collaborate with cross functional teams - both within Spectrum Reach and across the broader Charter organization. The VP will collaborate with Sales Leadership across all assigned categories on monthly, quarterly, annual sales budgets, goals, and targets. This Leader will also support Local and National Sales efforts, lead sales meetings, and collaborate on the strategy, planning and execution of training of all tools and product offerings.
- Develops proactive sales strategies and objectives to increase share of ad spending across key sales categories
- Oversee the category leaders and partner with National and Local Sales Leadership to ensure that the sales organization is achieving and exceeding category revenue targets.
- Collaborate with Reach teams to identify current & future market conditions as predictors of performance and activity needs.
- Provide accurate forecasting and category revenue reporting monthly to key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to gain entry and/or increase market engagement and grow share.
- Support all expansion efforts and identify maximum opportunity.
- Act as a thought leader on how to best engage all of Spectrum Reach to engages most effectively with category clients.
- Take the lead in the organization of Spectrum Reach's participation in industry events and conferences.
- Act as internal champion ensuring that categories are incorporated into all new product offerings as the business evolves

- 15+ years in related advertising sales experience, with a proven successful track record of building client relationships
- 10+ years of Sales leadership experience
- Managed geographically distributed sales organization, ideally category specific, with a track record of success
- Deep knowledge of Advanced Advertising (Digital, Programmatic, Addressable, etc.)
- Proven ability to work cross functionally and establish and maintain internal relationships, both within Spectrum Reach, across Charter and with partner organizations.
- Demonstrated sales planning and sales training ability to effectively develop and implement proactive sales strategies and objectives and to motivate and enhance effective sales techniques of sales personnel
- A strong track record of developing and leading high performing teams that consistently meet and exceed their short- and long-term goals and objectives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced degree, such as a MBA, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience

A qualified applicant's criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances.
The base pay for this position generally is between $213,000.00 and $350,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
In addition, this position has a commission earnings target starting at $150,000.
