As a Director of Corporate Facilities at Charter Communications, you will be responsible for developing, directing, and implementing plans and strategies for building and property maintenance. Your goal is to create a holistic and seamless occupancy experience for Charter Communication employees and visitors across our Corporate managed portfolio. As a trusted advisor and strategic partner, you will collaborate with other members of the Corporate Services team to ensure comprehensive service delivery. You will focus on the day-to-day integrated facilities management practices, as well as ensuring operational reliability and effectiveness of property services and building operating systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety systems, and more. It will be your responsibility to develop an effective leadership team and assist them in developing their direct reports, driving a high-performance culture that consistently delivers exceptional outcomes.

WHAT OUR DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE FACILITIES ENJOY MOST

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing robust facilities' operational strategies, focusing on improving the customer experience, relevant function, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Responsible for forecasting, planning, and executing an effective property reinvestment strategy, ensuring properties perform as intended, meet business requirements, and maintain their value.
  • Leading and supporting the implementation of a best-in-class facilities management practice, optimizing and efficiently operating properties according to established real estate performance management principles.
  • Developing and managing expense and capital budgets to optimize expenditures, following a Total Cost of Occupancy methodology and achieving expected results.
  • Developing and implementing a life safety/emergency preparedness program, coordinating with key operational groups.
  • Collaborating with Corporate Physical Security, Portfolio Planning, EH&S, and other Corporate Services teams to deliver a comprehensive occupancy experience.
  • Collaborating with Portfolio Planning and other Corporate Services leaders on local portfolio optimization and planning, delivering efficient real estate occupancy experiences and solutions.
  • Developing positive relationships with internal leaders and external service providers, improving occupancy experience, operational efficiency, and site reliability. Managing, leading, training, and developing internal resources, monitoring team performance and providing relevant feedback for improvement.
  • Identifying areas of improvement for the team and implementing strategies to optimize the Facilities Management Center of Excellence platform.
  • Applying and utilizing KPIs and performance metrics to support operational improvement strategies.
  • Leading and participating in sourcing strategies and developing real estate operational best practices.
  • Ensuring consistency of experience, processes, and tools across the managed portfolio and in balance with other Corporate managed portfolios.
  • Performing other assigned duties.

The Facilities Department ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the location(s), performing various support tasks to maintain a well-functioning building. They handle general maintenance and possess knowledge of corporate facility tasks. Operating in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, they prioritize prompt and efficient response to requests, delivering exceptional customer service with professionalism.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards
  • Office Environment
  • 10% Travel
  • Potential overnight, multi-night travel to offices in market areas/out-of-town
  • Be available to respond to after hour emergencies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Property management designation such as RPA or CPM or equivalent experience
  • Commercial real estate facilities, property management or similar experience - 10+ years
  • Moderately complex real estate portfolio experience - office and multi-use properties - 7+ years
  • Management/Supervisory experience - 5+ years
