Quality Technician I

Position Objective

The Quality Technician is responsible for product quality support at Receiving Inspection by inspecting, reporting, and supporting product root cause investigation and corrective/preventive actions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct Supplier first article inspections (FAI) of various outsourced products in accordance to AS9102.
  • Create inspection plans and inspect incoming materials.
  • Initiate quality investigation reports (QIRs) and participate in material review board (MRB) meetings.
  • Conduct product functional testing using the available lab testing equipment.
  • Calibrate inspection tools and complete the calibration report.
  • Communicate inspection status with cross-functional teams in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering to identify purchased product failures and specification gaps.

Required Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma is required.
  • 2 years of quality inspection
  • Experience in blue-print reading.
  • Experience in using hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and attribute gages.
  • Experience in visual and basic dimensional inspection of various products such as cast, molded, and machined components.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate product quality findings effectively across functional teams.
  • Experience in Microsoft Offices, especially Microsoft Excels.
  • Working knowledge of circuit card and electronic assemblies a plus.
  • Working knowledge of STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-600 a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities None.
