SR. COUNSEL, LITIGATION
The Sr. Litigation Counsel will represent SpaceX in a variety of litigation matters in the United States and internationally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all facets of labor/employment, consumer, contractual, commercial, and other kinds of legal disputes, and third party discovery
- Conduct internal investigations; direct litigation strategy; draft and review discovery requests/responses, pleadings, and briefs; negotiate settlements; and participate in trials and arbitration hearings
- Provide feedback from lessons learned through litigation to identify and mitigate legal risks and implement appropriate controls as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- JD from an accredited law school
- 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including law firm, in-house, and/or government experience
- Litigation experience, including trial/arbitration hearing and other “in-court” experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- First or second chair trial experience
- Professional experience that includes working as a judicial law clerk or litigation attorney within nationally recognized law firms, a dynamic, fast-paced organization, and/or government agency
- Significant experience in at least one of the following areas: employment, commercial disputes, consumer disputes, products liability, personal injury, international litigation, or environmental litigation
- Prior in-house experience or client relationships with high-growth companies
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with other business groups and/or clients
- Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Bar membership in California, Texas, or Florida
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time
- Must be admitted to the bar, in good standing, in at least one U.S. State
- This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
