FACILITIES MANAGER

SpaceX is committed to developing revolutionary space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. We are looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of our Starlink satellite manufacturing facility. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a 15-20 person team responsible for all facilities operations at the SpaceX Starlink facility to ensure continual services to the employees and customers

  • Includes HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, cryogenic fluid and industrial gas systems, and electrical systems
  • Manage work ticketing system to ensure correct staff and timely responses to break/fix requests
  • Manage third-party service providers to ensure services are meeting corporate standards and terms of contract
  • Manage construction team to develop, plan and execute site improvement and new build projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy
  • Administer an effective and efficient periodic maintenance and break/fix program for the site
  • Develop and implement on-call after-hours support for any facility related troubleshooting or emergency repairs
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 5+ years of professional experience with facilities engineering or project management

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, business, or supply chain discipline
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
    • Experience managing budgets
    • Experience managing third-party vendors
    • Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value
    • Experience with asset management software
    • Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes, such as: HVAC systems, fluid plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, generators, or fuel storage systems
    • High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
    • Ability to work independently with little direction
    • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
    • Ability to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
    • Provide 24/7 on-call support of all critical activities and emergency situations

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:                        

    Pay range:           

    Facilities Manager: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year

    Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

    Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.

    ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
