Customs Operations Specialist (Starlink)

CUSTOMS OPERATIONS SPECIALISTS (STARLINK)
As part of the Starlink Logistics team, you will play a critical role in getting Starlink into the hands of our customers around the world, including managing daily imports to enabling on time deliveries while navigating customs regulations and international trade laws. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, customs brokers, and government agencies, keeping our international supply chain running smoothly and efficiently. To be successful, you must be detail-oriented, love problem-solving, and want to make a direct impact on global supply chains.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Manage daily import activities including daily interaction with customs brokers, vendors, couriers and freight forwarders
- Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes and Schedule B to our products
- Understand and work with various importing requirements and government agencies such as FDA, EPA, AD/CVD, Section 201,301,232, quotas and Free Trade Agreements
- Identify and recommend process improvements and technology solution to streamline import operations
- Conduct document reviews and audits customs entries while ensuring accurate and complete record keeping are maintained per regulations
- Monitor U.S. imports to ensure timely clearance and resolve problems as necessary
- Where applicable, work with key stakeholders to drive system and process improvements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, international business, accounting, and/or international trade
- 1+ years of experience with international trade compliance matters
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Licensed Customs Broker with Department of Homeland Security
- Knowledge of aerospace and/or telecommunications Industries
- Ability to analyze technical data and can clearly articulate the appropriate HTS classification
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones
- This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
