Responsibilities
- Monitors market trends, vendor, industry group and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation in engineering solutions
- Develops and maintains asset management plans for utility infrastructure, proactively identifying future system upgrades and contributing to the formulation of departmental and organizational business plans and grid strategies
- Collaborates with regulatory affairs teams to ensure compliance with local, state, national, and international regulations governing energy engineering projects
- Identifies areas for process improvement and implements strategies to enhance engineering efficiency and productivity
- Deploys improvement initiatives and tracks progress using relevant metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the continuous improvement efforts
- Addresses any performance issues promptly and creates improvement plans when necessary
- Plans, designs and oversees the infrastructure of power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
- Coordinates and prioritizes activities within the team to ensure efficient project execution; aids in managing resources and budget activities to achieve strict compliance with the company's guidelines
- Evaluates and recommends investments in infrastructure, equipment, and technology to support the long-term growth and competitiveness of the engineering department
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
- Ten or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Outage Management System (OMS), Outage Database & Reliability Metrics (ODRM), or other similar outage databases.
- Experience designing, scoping, or planning utility grid solutions or mitigations.
- Demonstrated experience in the area of power system engineering analysis including knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, codes, and analysis software such as CYME.
- Demonstrated experience with project management concepts and experience including planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and coordinating multiple projects.
- Demonstrated experience preparing detailed engineering studies and reports.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly capture information discussed in team settings including key decisions & outcomes with rationale supported by data, context, and implications to a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior management.
- A passion for innovation and implementing cutting-edge technologies to enhance system reliability and performance.
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Pomona. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
- Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.Relocation does not apply to this position.
