In this job, you\u2019ll lead resource adequacy work for SCE, supporting regulatory filings, providing strategic support to resource optimization, traders and contract managers as well as maintaining resource adequacy capacity positions in support of solicitations and short and long term strategic objectives. You will join our Energy Procurement & Management (EPM) organization which is responsible for developing SCE\u2019s multi-billion-dollar energy resource portfolio, with a particular emphasis on non-GHG emitting resources in furtherance of SCE\u2019s clean energy dedication.\u00a0As a \u00a0Resource Adequacy, Senior Advisor, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities

  • Drives major energy procurement activities including development of contract evaluation framework, net present value (NPV) analysis of offers, development of portfolio selection tools, and preparation of advice letters and testimony in support of cost recovery for energy procurement activities
  • Monitors resource adequacy program by coordinating with various commercial and operational teams to meet compliance requirements and contribute to portfolio optimization efforts
  • Provides insights and recommendations based on the application of analytical models and grid planning simulation tools, influencing decisions related to resource portfolios, system pricing, and GHG emissions
  • Analyzes regulator demands, advising on how SCE can better align with them, and starts to influence discussions with state agencies regarding California's energy and reliability needs
  • Manages research initiatives, integrates findings, and formulates recommendations on the potential of new technologies for supply and demand-side energy resources
  • Leads contract origination's solicitation efforts to meet RA, Energy, IRP, etc procurement needs/goals
  • Reviews and provides feedback on contract pro forma updates, valuation methodologies and procurement strategy
  • Creates and refines financial modeling modules for specific generating units, ensuring data is accurately processed and stored
  • Takes a lead role in preparing and delivering RPS related filings and contributes to the development of joint IOU's proposal for information-only transit-oriented development factors
  • Recommends market design changes to address gaps in policy and/or operations
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience in financial planning, modeling and/or forecasting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Economics or Quantitative related discipline.
  • Seven years of combined experience in capacity, forecasting, project management, planning, and/or involvement in regulatory proceedings within an electric utility organization.
  • Experience using advanced Excel models.

  • This position\u2019s work mode is\u00a0hybrid.\u00a0The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
