Become an IT Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be responsible for delivering multiple Software projects/products in the impactful and influential Grid Engineering and Planning Tools portfolio. You will lead projects of varying size and complexity, requiring you to make daily decisions associated with project health, vendor performance, project financials, and risks / issues. You will ensure technology investments deliver positive business value and are directly associated with strategic Company and Organizational Unit (OU) goals. You will collaborate with multiple internal and external partners, at all levels of management, including IT vendors, Portfolio Governance, Cybersecurity, Change & Release Management, Service Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations. Additionally, you will manage a cross-functional team, aligning multiple collaborators in areas such as project plans, issue resolution, escalation, and project assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities of one or more moderate to large, short to mid-term projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes
  • Exercises considerable latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverable
  • Decides appropriate methods, procedures for new projects with significant independence
  • Engages with all levels of management and acts as a key consultant for both functional and business issues
  • Manages complex user story decomposition, dependency mapping, and backlog prioritization
  • Analyzes velocity trends, quality metrics, and team capacity to forecast release plans
  • Drives process improvements by analyzing sprint metrics and refining ceremonies, workflows, documentation, and tools
  • Implements Agile software development practices including test-driven development (TDD), pair programming, continuous integration, and refactoring
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in IT project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Computing Information Systems, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.
  • Two or more years of IT portfolio management, product line management, or customer relationship management experience.
  • Five or more years of experience working in Information Technology for an electric utility.
  • Solid understanding of and experience in using appropriate tools:

    • Agile tools such as Jira/Octane, GitHub, or equivalent
    • Business Tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio
  • Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, and CRSIP DM methodology.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or PMP certifications.
  • CSM certification.
  • Effective interpersonal skills include mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
