Become a Finance Integration, Business Transformation and Readiness, Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job you'll, sit within the Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Financial Planning/Reporting/ Analysis team, a key sub-track of the Finance Integration workstream. The team is responsible for implementing future-state designs that transform core finance functions-focusing on cash management, payables, and financial reporting. The position leads efforts to ensure solutions across Treasury, AP, and planning align with business needs and enterprise goals.

The NextGen ERP program will span the next 5 years leveraging emerging digital solutions in concert with re-imagining and transforming our current processes and organization to make dramatic improvements to operational performance, as many companies are doing across industries. We are looking at an approach that not only upgrades the systems but also transforms our business processes to enhance efficiency, improve data quality, and provide better integrated decision making across the enterprise. We are currently in the implementation phase of a major ERP transformation program, leveraging a hybrid agile approach to motivate change. This effort goes beyond a system upgrade-it's a fundamental redesign of our core financial processes. Our goal is to streamline operations, enhance data accuracy, and enable integrated, enterprise-wide decision-making. The Finance Integration track plays a critical role in delivering these outcomes.

Lead sub-track or tracks:

  • Leading the transformation of bank account management, cash management processes, including payments, bank communication and reconciliations, and processing financial instruments including credit facilities, commercial paper, and bonds.
  • Leading the design and implementation of Accounts Payable solutions, including invoice processing, vendor payment execution, and vendor and bank communication.
  • Leading the design and implementation of the integrated financial planning solutions that encompass income statements, balance sheets, and support for capital and O&M operating plans, as well as other financial forecasts (e.g., EPS including successful integration with edge technologies, including COBRA and UI Planner, to support enterprise-wide financial planning and informed decision-making.
  • Serve as the product owner and lead on implementation teams and the point of contact for assigned technology track or tracks as well as oversee the development of tools, data readiness efforts, and processes needed to ensure a successful implementation of assigned area.
  • The successful candidate is expected to have experience, understanding, and working knowledge in the subject area and project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive transformation strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive and innovative.
  • Analyze the current state of the organization and perform impact assessments around processes, systems, and culture, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of transformation initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress against targets, identifying areas of improvement and making necessary adjustments.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, to gain support and alignment for the transformation efforts.
  • Serve as lead on implementation teams and the single point of contact for assigned technology workshops as well as oversee the development of tools, data readiness efforts, and processes needed to ensure a successful implementation of Asset Management principles and asset integration business planning
  • This position is expected to be a subject matter expert.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of business operations and/or transformation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of finance operations, finance business transformation projects, or related financial or business transformation experience.
  • Five or more years of experience and proficiency with MS Office 360 applications, including Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration, a technical field or other related field.
  • Project Management Certification and/or experience working with hybrid Waterfall/ Agile approach.
  • Experience conducting and facilitating large scale projects and end to end project management skills.
  • Two or more years of experience and working knowledge with SAP/ ERP applications/ modules, with deep understanding of related business processes and operating models spanning one or more business process domains, such as Accounts Payable, Manage Treasury, Group reporting, and/or financial reporting, planning and analysis with GL Accounting, SAP Finance and Payroll modules (FI, CO or S4 Hana Finance).
  • Experience with SAP ERP or S/4 HANA ERP full lifecycle implementations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, along with negotiation and influence skills.
  • Experience advising and recommending courses of action on process improvements, operational plans, or business strategies, often to Senior Management or Executive audiences.
  • Experience translating complex business needs and requirements into appropriate technology solutions.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or technology solutions.
  • Proven change agent and innovative thinker with ability to influence change.
  • Ability to enhance the safety culture, work environment, and diversity and inclusion.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
