THE ROLE
Working alongside the lead Network Engineer and 2nd/3rd Line End User Services, you will be focused upon supporting the EMEA region for network infrastructure including WAN & LAN, Auction support and our global voice platform including our contact centre software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Telecommunications
- Programming of the 8x8 hosted VoIP system
- Programming of our 8x8 contact center platform
- Managing individual user and departmental moves, adds and changes within the Global estate
- Record faults in the fault log.
- Set up sale room phones on auction days
- Working with 3rd party suppliers (vendors / mechanical and electrical services engineers)
Network Support
- Providing 2nd line network support, configuration and implementation/installations
- Supporting the day-to-day administration and support of appropriate network management tools and regular reporting of network performance
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of patch management.
- Supporting day-to-day configuration management of the various network infrastructure components e.g. routers, switches and firewalls, taking steps to ensure secure configurations.
- Supporting the monitoring of and administration of network security
- Travel to Sotheby’s EMEA regional offices to assist with hardware upgrades and local & project support when required.
- Provide on and off-site site auction sale set-up and support for all regional sales
- Update Freshservice as calls are progressed, and take responsibility for calls to closure, including liaison with appropriate IT colleagues and users
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Experience deploying and configuring Cisco Meraki network appliance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related area
- Requires knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
- Experienced in Cisco Meraki Network Switch setup and configuration would be higher consideration
- Strong problem-solving skills required for technical issue resolution
- Organized and structured work habitsStrong personal time management to coordinate several tasks simultaneously
- Understanding of basic network protocols in particular and network architecture in general, sufficient to support and troubleshoot connectivity issues and to maintain the office network via WI-FI/cabling/hubs and switches
- Understanding of mobile devices and platform (iPhones, iPads, Android, IOS etc.) in order to assist troubleshooting them within our corporate environment
- Working knowledge of a helpdesk call logging system, sufficient to allow consistent input of all calls dealt with and analysis of such calls
- Use effective problem-solving techniques, to support and restore normal service due to any production problems and to minimize the impact to the department or business
- Maintain proficiency in information technology and tools to enhance productivity and quality of service provision
- Strong communication skills, tactful, enthusiastic, confident, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and with a flexible approach to meeting changing business requirements
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends during sale and deadline period
