World Electric is seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor to join the team.

The Facility Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and systems are properly maintained and/or repaired to support the health, safety, and well-being of the staff. This position requires a background in general building maintenance and moderate knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, machinery, PIT equipment and HVAC Systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Include the following; other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive facility maintenance program, including preventative maintenance schedules, to ensure the optimal functioning of all facility systems and equipment.
  • Perform and prioritize facility maintenance tasks, repairs, and projects, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Perform regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and areas for improvement.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and root cause analysis to figure out problems with machinery or equipment.
  • Provides maintenance and repairs on furniture, HVAC systems, plumbing issues, and electrical issues and more depending on the scope of the project.
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to facility maintenance.
  • Collaborate with operations departments to understand their facility maintenance needs and provide timely support and solutions.
  • Manage the facility's budget for maintenance and repairs, and ensure cost-effective procurement of equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory.
  • Building access, security and surveillance - maintain relationship with security providers, engage with installers as required to keep these systems functioning adequately for the needs of the business, periodically review internal standards to make sure we are meeting the needs of associates and visitors.
  • Foster a culture of safety and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in and follows all World policies, guidelines, and procedures (safety, Anti-Harassment, Ethics, etc).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management or business related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance preferably in the warehouse and distribution environment.
  • Strong communication skills are needed in both verbal and written (English and Spanish).

Requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ability to plan, direct and supervise the work of others to obtain efficient results.
  • Ability to create reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions & procedure manuals.
  • Very strong customer orientation and service awareness and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to identify problems, develop and evaluate alternative solutions, and successfully resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Must have good judgement regarding problems and issues.
  • Must know when to seek help in resolving problems.
