Bioprocess Applications Engineer - Biopharma (Solventum)
We are pleased to announce that Solventum has entered into a definitive agreement to sell our Purification & Filtration business to Thermo Fisher Scientific. This transaction is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, receipt of regulatory approvals, and country specific information and consultation needs where required. This is a significant milestone for the P&F business and will allow for the strategic investment and resources needed for sustaining growth and delivering customer solutions. - Designing and executing experiments from lab to manufacturing scale and analyzing data to help current and prospective customers find the optimal solution for their processes
- Providing support, guidance and training to existing and prospective clients
- Building strong peer-to-peer technical relationships with our current and prospective customers
- Being the voice of the customer within Solventum by providing market insights to support customer-centric sales, marketing activities and product development activities
- Develop into a regional bioprocessing expert in the industry through extensive collaborations across Solventum’s customer base including on joint publications, presentations, and industry participation to elevate Solventum’s reputation within the bioprocessing community
- This position can be adapted to accommodate varying levels of experience and education, ranging from junior to senior roles.
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline
- Two (2) or more years of bioprocess process development (PD) and/or manufacturing science and technology (MSAT) experience in a clinical or commercial environment
- Two (2) years of customer support and/or managing vendor relationships and engagements.
- Experienced in general analytical methods to characterize process fluids (ex: HPLC, ELISA, PCR and DLS…)
- Working knowledge of purification processes in the Biopharmaceutical industry
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Experience in on-site and remote support to biopharmaceutical companies (small to large scale companies) for filter selection and sizing, process optimization, troubleshooting, and scale-up
- Working knowledge of protein purification processes
- Experience evaluating filtration steps to optimize key process parameters with a distinct focus on process economics modeling
- Track record of technical collaborations across internal and external organizations, professional technical conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience supporting the customer through FDA drug approval process in proteins, vaccines, and viral vectors in recombinant protein biopharmaceutical process
- Working knowledge of advanced modality processing such as gene and cell therapy
