The Role...

The Head of Finance, Asia is a senior leadership role responsible for financial leadership, compliance, performance management, and strategic support across multiple regional markets. This individual will manage and develop finance teams in each country, partnering closely with local and regional leaders. The role acts as a key business partner to the Regional Operational Director and serves as a critical link between the region and the CFO – UK, Europe & Asia. The position also plays a leading role in ERP implementation and broader finance transformation initiatives.

 

Main Duties…

Your normal responsibilities and duties shall include but are not limited to:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, develop, and support a team of finance professionals across Asia.
  • Provide financial leadership to the region, contributing to strategy development and execution.
  • Support the CFO – UK, Europe & Asia with strategic financial planning and regional oversight.
  • Align regional finance strategies with group-wide objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Partner with the General Manager & Regional Operational Director to drive performance and deliver on business goals.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all aspects of statutory and internal financial reporting across the region.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP requirements, providing high-quality, accurate reporting.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes, including variance analysis and scenario modelling.
  • Deliver clear financial insights and strategic recommendations to regional and group leadership.

Tax, Treasury & Compliance

  • Ensure all tax obligations and fiscal responsibilities are met in each market.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors to ensure compliant and efficient operations.
  • Manage regional treasury functions, including cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange exposure.
  • Manage treasury functions, cashflow analysis, group reporting, and local statutory audits; oversees local tax filings and cash flow management incl. weekly cashflow forecast
  • Maintain and continuously enhance robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.

Finance Transformation & Systems

  • Serve as the regional conduit for the ERP programme, ensuring effective local implementation and adoption.
  • Drive finance transformation projects, including automation, digital tools, and process optimisation.
  • Oversee the integration and effective use of finance systems to support business needs and reporting accuracy.

Commercial Support & Project Management

  • Provide financial input into strategic projects and commercial initiatives.
  • Evaluate business cases, commercial deals, and investment opportunities with sound financial analysis.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for business leaders, supporting data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of regional and cross-market initiatives.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with key regional and functional stakeholders, including Operations, People/HR, IT, and Legal.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager & Regional Operational Director to align financial performance with operational strategy.
  • Represent Finance in cross-functional leadership forums and regional governance structures.

People Development & Capability Building

  • Recruit, coach, and develop finance talent across the region.
  • Implement training and development plans that foster growth, succession planning, and high performance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the finance function and the broader business.

 

Requirements / Qualifications...

  • Minimum of 10+ years’ relative experience with 3+ years Management experience
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within a multinational or regional structure.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a professional accounting qualification (preferably CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong background in statutory compliance, tax, treasury, and internal controls.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to influence business decisions through financial insight.
  • Skilled at managing and developing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong sense of business acumen, analytical, communication and reporting skills; 
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, open-minded mindset in embracing new-gen accounting and control system
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
  • Passionate about Soho House and upholding its standards and core ethos
