Babington House

Situated in a Grade II-listed manor built in 1705, Babington House is surrounded by 18 acres of English countryside in the heart of Somerset. Just 30 minutes from Bath, it’s the ultimate countryside escape for rest, relaxation and seasonal dining. With 33 bedrooms spread across Babington’s historic buildings, Cabins and Lodges, the club features a formal dining space in the Orangery, serving a unique menu centred around seasonal and local produce. There’s also a cricket pitch and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a gym and original Cowshed Spa. 

The Role… 

We are seeking an experienced Cinema Projectionist to join our team at Babington House (BA11 3RW). As a Cinema Projectionist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining projection equipment that is used to show movies or other audio visual presentations at the 76 Dean Street Screening room.

 

Day-to-day operation of all technical aspects of cinema operation including but not limited to:

• Running daily screenings to the high presentation levels expected of Soho House screening rooms
• Projection and sound equipment maintenance
• Ensuring that all areas of cinema auditorium are well maintained at all times
• Ensuring that all required content and licenses are received and in place in good time for all performances
• Ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed in cinema
• Running of private events & industry screenings - liaising with clients & management to ensure that all aspects run to the high standards that are expected

Front of house duties, including:

• Managing guestlist and checking in members for screenings
• General member relations in all areas of the cinema space
• Working alongside box office team and assisting where required
• Daily reporting to general manager and wider business
• Ensuring all areas of the cinema are clean and tidy at all times

 

Ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas:

• Cinema projection and presentation
• Basic customer service experience
• IT and networking
• Audio/Visual equipment – Microphones, mixing desks, vision mixers, audio connections (such as coaxial, XLR)
• Use of different types of video files/codecs (ProRes, H264/H265, MP4, DCP)
• Use of different types of AV connections (HDMI, DP, VGA)

Travel: Approx. 30 minutes from Bath, 50 minutes from Bristol & 10 mins from Frome (No local transport from Frome)
