The role…
At Soho House, the Barista is responsible for preparing coffee, tea and other hot/cold café options. As a Barista, you will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages to order.
A successful Barista will perform light Bartending duties such as prepare various coffee and tea drinks, upsell items, create recipes for seasonally influenced menu items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. A Barista at Soho House is approachable, engaging, passionate about beverage and of course, a morning person with a love of coffee!
Main Duties
- Create rememberable and special experiences for all members and guests through exceptional delivery of coffee and espresso drinks
- Classic café drink knowledge: the ability to make uniform coffee, espresso, and tea drinks.
- Educate all guests about Soho House & Co coffee program; brewing methods, beverage blends, and preparation techniques as well as pairing food items to optimize and improve overall guest experience
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu items, seasonally influenced items, answer questions and accepting orders and payments via cash register.
- Complete AM checklist and preparing section for daily business levels and by grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, slicing garnishes and serving items.
- Responsible for adhering to company and government sanitary and food/safety programs by washing glassware and utensils after each use, maintaining a clean work area
- Serve food to customers seated at the bar, menu knowledge.
- Monitor and maintain coffee inventory of supplies to ensure service is always seamless and product is available to make drinks and sell beverage options
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Make Cocktails as needed During shift Training will be Provided.

Required Skills/Qualifications
- 2+ years’ Barista and local café experience
- Working knowledge of brewing coffee and espresso by grinding fresh beans
- Strong communication and people skills
- Flexible schedule and ability to work mornings and weekends as needed
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Tips certified
- Micros a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
