Assistant Merchandiser - Soho Home

The Role...

Reporting into the Senior Merchandiser, the Assistant Merchandiser will be responsible for supporting sales, stock, intake and profitability targets, whilst working closely with the Buying and Product development team here at Soho Home.

A confident communicator, extremely well organised with excellent analytical and excel skills, and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also possess omni-channel Merchandising experience.

Key Responsibilities

Stock & Intake Management

  • Manage intake and deliveries, resolving shipment issues, and ensuring timely replenishment of stock
  • Manage stock levels, ensuring optimal product stock availability
  • Proposing reorders in line with Open To Buy and sales demand
  • Closely monitor intake deliveries and make recommendations/highlight any risk to sales, profit and stock availability

Supplier

  • Build and maintain supplier production forecasts, with the objective of reducing lead times, improving stock availability and cost efficiencies
  • Build strong relationship with suppliers - regularly meetings and communication 

Planning & Forecasting

  • Forecasting demand and reordering in line with Open To Buy and safety stock levels
  • Update and maintain Merchandising planning and trading reports
  • Support Merchandiser with new season sign off -  range building and sign off documents/packs
  • Support Merchandiser with range and sales planning 
  • Analysing sales data, identifying trends, and contributing to the development of effective range plans

Trading

  • Work closely with sales channels to ensure stock is ordered in line with supplier lead times to meet customers’ requirements
  • Manage store/sales channel replenishment levels and supervise Merchandising Admin assistant
  • Undertake regular retail store visits
  • Track sales against targets, identifying bestsellers and slow-moving items, and recommending actions to optimize sales and minimize markdown risk

Skills and Knowledge required

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and planning skills 
  • Ability to work well in a team and build relationships, internally and externally
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to stock, sales, or other merchandising challenges
  • Omnichannel Merchandising experience is a huge bonus
