Location: We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef I (Catering Chef) to join the Sodexo Live! team at Hard Rock Stadium.

Principal Function:
The Sous Chef I is a key member of the Sodexo Live! culinary leadership team at Hard Rock Stadium, overseeing catering operations across the entire venue. This role ensures that all food is prepared using fundamental cooking techniques, seasoned for maximum flavor, and presented in a visually appealing manner to meet the high standards of large-scale stadium events.
The Sous Chef I manages all aspects of foodservice production and service for stadium-wide catering, ensuring strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols. This includes direct supervision of menu preparation and production across multiple kitchen stations-hot line, cold prep, and pastry-supporting a wide range of events from VIP catering to large-scale concerts and sporting events.
In this high-volume, fast-paced environment, the Sous Chef I plays a critical role in training, mentoring, and developing culinary staff. They are responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen workflow that supports seamless execution across all catering operations within the stadium.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Participate as part of Culinary Leadership Team to manage the catering department for the preparation of foods served to the customers in a consistent and timely manner.
- Collaborate with culinary leadership on menu development and oversee the execution of catering menus tailored to diverse event needs.
- Coordinate and monitor kitchen operations to maintain an organized, efficient workflow that supports seamless catering service delivery.
- Ensure Kitchen Safety and Sanitation conforms to all Sodexo Live!, regulatory, and governmental standards to provide a safe workplace producing high quality food products.
Qualifications/Skills:
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years in a food preparation position.
- Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
- Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.
Preferred:
- Degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program.
- ACF Professional Certification.
Other Requirements:
- Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
- Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
