Role Overview
Sodexo is seeking a Senior Area Executive Chef for our schools segment
Remote role with the preferred candidate residing in Washington, Oregon, Arizona or Colorado with up to 30% travel
This position provides culinary support to a large area including multiple units in terms of cross unit culinary training and expertise, menu support, food cost management, sales presentation supports and in unit innovations and brand deployments. This job will support training and development of frontline teams and new hires. This job will also assist with menu development, culinary development of the programs/platforms. Financial plate costing; compliance product and vendor compliance.
The Senior Area Executive Chef will be an energetic, polished Culinary Professional with the ability to build and maintain client relationships and will participate in the re-bidding and new sales processes for the segment.
What You'll Do
- Culinary training to include understanding recipes and measurements, batch cooking, food preparation and production, knife skills, HACCP, food presentation and service, speed of service, and production management to control and reduce food cost expenses
- Work with on-site teams to understand the importance of brand standards and how these standards build value to our operations
- Provide menu and student experience and innovation support
- Work with operations support team to manage or reduce food cost to be within budgeted targets for each operation.

What You Bring
- Minimum of experience of 5 years as culinary lead in a multi-site operation.
- Strong understanding for P&L operations.
- Knowledge for K12 meal patterns is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of how to develop recipes to meet different requirements for customer's diet plans.
- Bachelor's Degree, Culinary Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to lead a team without direct authority over their daily operations.
