The San Diego Theatres, home to the historic Balboa Theatre and the iconic Civic Theatre, are the cultural heartbeat of downtown San Diego. With nearly 5,000 seats across two stunning venues, the theatres host Broadway tours, concerts, comedy, dance, film, and community celebrations year-round. We are currently seeking a Hospitality Supervisor at the San Diego Theatres.
The Hospitality Supervisor will assist with day-to-day operations across food, beverage, and guest service areas, including ordering, inventory controls, and cash management. This role supports customer satisfaction by ensuring departmental policies and procedures are followed, maintaining service excellence, and assisting with the training and development of front-line hospitality staff. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance operational needs with delivering memorable guest experiences at one of San Diego's premier cultural venues.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise front-line hospitality staff and ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
- Schedule and coordinate appropriate staffing levels for each event.
- Address and report personnel issues, workplace accidents, or injuries promptly to management or Human Resources.
- Oversee event preparation to ensure all areas are fully set up, clean, and operational prior to opening.
- Maintain inventory controls, including ordering, receiving, transfers, requisitions, and waste management, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Safeguard company assets such as cash, inventory, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure menus, signage, and pricing are accurate and professionally displayed.
- Train and coach staff in customer service, hospitality standards, and service excellence.
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service speed to meet company standards.
- Enforce uniform and appearance guidelines in accordance with company policy.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2-4 years' experience as Hospitality Supervisor or Manager in a mid to large volume operation.
Other requirements:
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to work in extremes of cold and heat. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work in extremes of cold to heat.
- Must be able to exert well-paced mobility to maneuver quickly among different areas of the facility.
