Location: We are seeking an experienced General Manager for the University of Cincinnati Athletics Training Table located in Cincinnati, OH.

Principal Function:

The General Manager is responsible for overall leadership and operational oversight of the University of Cincinnati Athletics Training Table, the dining program dedicated exclusively to fueling student-athletes. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact between Sodexo Live!, UC Athletics administration, and Performance Nutrition staff to ensure a high-quality dining experience that supports athlete wellness, recovery, and performance.

The General Manager will provide hands-on leadership to facilitate dining operations that exceed client and guest expectations while managing resources effectively, maximizing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with Sodexo Live! and NCAA standards. The General Manager's highest priorities will be to deliver exceptional student-athlete dining experiences, maintain financial accountability, and uphold standards for nutrition, food safety, service, and sanitation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall management and direction for daily operations at the Training Table facility, including front-of-house service, back-of-house production, sanitation, and guest experience.
  • Serve as the key liaison with UC Athletics administration, coaches, and Performance Dietitians to ensure dining services align with athlete fueling and nutritional goals.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team including chefs, culinary staff, service staff, and student employees, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance; manage cost controls, purchasing, and vendor relationships to ensure high-quality products within budget parameters.
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo Live! policies, university standards, and NCAA requirements, including food safety, sanitation, and athlete dietary needs.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate staff to build a high-performing, service-focused team.
  • Identify and respond to client and customer feedback, proactively resolving issues and continuously improving service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, post-event reconciliations, and data tracking to measure performance and compliance.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
  • A minimum of 5 years of previous leadership experience in contract food service, collegiate dining, or athletic performance dining environment preferred.
  • Experience managing operations with a focus on nutrition-driven, performance-based dining strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success managing budgets and P&L accountability.
  • Familiarity with NCAA nutrition, compliance, and fueling guidelines considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a high-volume, client-focused environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including athletes, coaches, dietitians, and staff.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities.

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
  • Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
