Role Overview

Sodexo Senior Living is looking for a Food Service Manager 2 to join our team at Knollwood, an upscale continuing care retirement community located in Washington DC. Knollwood is home to approximately 275 residents serving all levels of care; independent living, assisted living, and healthcare. This Food Service Manager will oversee the healthcare and assisted living dining rooms serving approximately 70 residents. The typical shift will vary from opening to closing with some weekend coverage.

  • Oversee healthcare and assisted living dining rooms
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, menu compliance
  • Coordinate with clinical dietitian and nursing staff regarding diets/meal plans
  • Lead and developing a staff of approximately 5 hourly employees
  • Interface closely and daily with residents, staff and client executive level leadership
  • Direct and supervise all point of service operations and staff for excellence
  • Engage with peers, colleagues and residents in a manner that invites interaction and feedback.

What You Bring

  • Two or more years food service experience, ideally in a healthcare environment
  • Dietary knowledge or a CDM (dietary manager certification) is helpful
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and exhibit a passion for a high-level of customer service
  • Computer literacy
  • A positive approach to tasks with a can-do attitude and impeccable attention to detail
