Role Overview
Sodexo Senior Living is seeking an Food Operations manager 2 to join our food service team at Bridgewater Retirement Community, in Bridgewater, VA. Bridgewater is a 55-acre campus nestled in the folds of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bridgewater Retirement Community is ideally located near the center of the town, providing a flat terrain for easy walking access to dining, entertainment, shopping, the library and many recreational opportunities.
This Food Operations Manager will mainly oversee the skilled nursing and assisted living dining operations serving approximately 224 residents. Dining operations include 8 households, 2 dining rooms and a small cafe with Simply To Go case. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be a champion for their employees and staff. Typical schedule is 8:00am - 5:30pm with every 5th weekend coverage.

What You'll Do
- will provide guidance and training for team, mainly working with kitchen staff and supporting FOH operations;
- will manage a staff of approximately 30 hourly employees
- ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
- interface closely and daily with residents;
- motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline staff.

What You Bring
- prior food service management experience in a healthcare environment highly preferred;
- basic culinary knowledge;
- knowledge of special diets, a dietary manager certification (CDM) is a plus;
- strong team building skills with the ability to train and develop employees;
- working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance;
- the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and exhibit a passion for a high-level of customer service.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
